Meet Andrea

The word ALOHA is commonly used in the Hawai'ian islands as a greeting, but if you look closer, it means so much more than "Hello" or "Goodbye". ALOHA in its deeper meaning is an expression of love, compassion, kindness, empathy, truthful honesty, humility, patient perseverance, mutual regard, affection and warmth, just to name a few. For some, ALOHA means "The Love of God is in our Presence" and to some others it means "I see God/Goddess/Spirit/The Light in You". In this deeper sense of the word ALOHA, I welcome you to my Healing Center BAREFOOT ALOHA / ALOHA PAU 'OLE (which means "Aloha Without End").

On this page, I want to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about me, so you know why I am doing what I am doing and what you can expect when you work with me.

I love life, I love people, and I love nature. There is so much to see and learn, so much variety, so much learning, and so many possibilities all around us and I have always had a strong desire to explore as much as I could and grow into the best version of myself.

My life has taken me on a very interesting journey personally and professionally. I was born and raised in Vienna, Austria and spent most of my time outdoors and in my grandfather's garden. There, I learned about the circle of life, the amazing healing power of nature, and how we are all connected in some way. My soul mission was always to help people heal, feel better, and support them in difficult times. Even though my original dream was to go into Medicine, I studied Biology and received a Master's degree with a specialization in Aquatic Ecology. The career I had dreamed of as biologist, however, didn't really work out due to a lack of employment opportunities in Vienna and so I had to consider other options.

This was the first, but certainly not the last time I had to adapt my plans, learn how to deal with frustration and disappointments, and ultimately allow life to take me into a different direction than I had originally planned. Broken dreams and unfulfilled expectations have not only provided me with positive experiences, but have also led me into dark times, including a postpartum depression and a severe identity crisis. Ultimately, however, life has taught me that there is always a silver lining, that the solution is always contained in the problem, and that the only time we can get lost is when we lose the connection with ourselves.

Now, three children, three moves back and forth across the Atlantic for my husband's work, and 17 quite unexpected years of living in New Jersey later, I am a licensed, board certified massage therapist & bodyworker, craniosacral therapist, ordained interfaith minister and professional life and wellness coach, offering health- and wellness services to my local community as well as trainings, retreats and sacred journeys in beautiful locations around the world, including Bali, Hawai'i and Europe.

In my personal time, I love to cook, bake, sing, read and write, and spend time in nature. I volunteer in hospice as well as for a domestic violence organization. As a family, we love to travel and explore new places, discover new foods, and meet new people. Even though, as the saying goes, "life happened as we were making other plans" I am deeply grateful for the life we have created and I wouldn't have it any other way.

In 2009, I fell in love with Hawai'i and its beautiful, ancient healing arts. In the traditional Lomi Lomi treatments, I found a powerful combination of prayer, meditation, connection to Nature and Mother Earth as well as our own body. The Spirit of the Land in Hawai'i transformed my life in magical ways. This work and the intensive training I received over the course of several months on the island of Kauai has changed my life profoundly and I am very excited to offer the Hawai'ian Healing Arts in addition to Western/Therapeutic Massage in my Healing Center to make the benefits of this work also available to my clients.

I have learned that our lives are truly what we make it and that there is nothing more powerful than the relationship and connection we have with ourselves. It is indeed the most important relationship in your life! We are the only ones who can live our unique potential and spread our wings and fly. Complaining, blaming or regretting only leads us away from our own happiness and reinforces everything we don't want to experience, while gratitude, humility, and joy can help set a powerful foundation to make our dreams come true. It is so important to take time for our own self-care in body, mind, and spirit to connect with the deep wisdom we carry and tap into the unseen network of unconditional love and support that always surrounds us. It is my goal to support you in your personal healing and enchant you again to your own life and dreams. I invite you to fall in love with yourself, your body, your talents, your gifts, your perfections and imperfections, and to learn how to deeply connect with yourself so you can truly spread your wings and fly!

E Aloha Pau 'Ole,
